Introduction - MS Overview
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a progressively debilitating disease that changes an
individual’s life and self-perception. It is the most common neurological disorder in
young adults between the ages of 20-50. A person diagnosed with MS must manage
symptoms, implement and adhere to prescribed medical treatments, and make
modifications in lifestyle and behaviors to successfully face the challenges
presented by the illness.  The uncertainty of the disease course and the negative
perception of MS can cause feelings of overwhelming distress, hopelessness, and
anxiety.

While we hope for a cure in our lifetime, Louisville Comprehensive MS Center, Inc.,
(MS Center) recognizes the present challenges faced by people living with the
disease.  To ensure a life of quality, it is of profound importance to address all parts
of the individual’s humanity through a comprehensive approach.  By hosting this
Expo, the MS Center hopes to bring to the MS community up-to-the-minute
information and resources on MS care, treatment, preventative health care, as well
as products and services that will make people’s lives easier and more manageable.
